Biography

The graduate physicist Ranga Yogeshwar has been a moderator of “Quarks & Co.” for over ten years. science for everyone and calls for a revolution in the education system. After studying physics at the Technical University of Aachen with a degree in physics, he worked at the Swiss Institute for Nuclear Research (SIN) Villingen and CERN Geneva as well as at the KFA Jülich.

In 1985, he spent time with seminars and conferences (including Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; University of Mysore; Doon School) for one year in India. In 1987 he joined Westdeutscher Rundfunk Cologne, where he headed the programme group Science for several years. Yogeshwar has developed, produced and hosted numerous TV programmes and is one of Germany’s best-known science journalists. Since 2008 Ranga Yogeshwar has worked as a freelance journalist and author.

His three books “Sonst noch Fragen?”, “Ach so!” and “Nächste Ausfahrt Zukunft” quickly became bestsellers. His commitment to knowledge transfer has received many awards, including honorary doctorates from the University of Wuppertal, the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German Television Award and other honours.
